All our hams are produced in the Iberian Peninsula. Our pigs are reared in the pastures we own in the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos, surrounded by Mediterranean forests, holm oaks, cork oaks and quejidos, feeding on natural products of the highest quality. In this way we achieve a unique and exclusive flavour, which will not leave any palate indifferent, both in the acorn-fed ham and in our fattened hams.

Fattened hams

Cebo hams come from pigs fed on cereals such as wheat, soya, maize or barley. In César Nieto‘s pastures we offer our animals top quality food, something that is very noticeable in the final result of our fattened hams.

Boneless ham and sliced ham

At César Nieto we are aware that it is not always necessary to buy a whole piece, either for lack of space to keep it or for lack of time to consume it. That is why we offer the option of buying our best hams boneless and sliced. You can also buy online our ham sliced by hand by our masters, or machine-sliced ham.

How to preserve ham?

If you want to buy César Nieto acorn-fed ham or fattening hams but do not know how to store them, we can tell you that there are no mysteries and that the ham can be kept at home for a long time without losing quality.
The ideal temperature for storing our acorn-fed and fattened hams is between 10 and 15 degrees. Thus, during the autumn and winter season it is sufficient to keep the ham in a cool area of the home.
In summer, when the temperature rises, it is more difficult to keep ham at that temperature. But that’s OK, we just need to keep it in the coolest place in the house, such as the pantry, so that it is not subjected to high temperatures, but without going crazy about keeping it at 10-15 degrees.
The most important thing for acorn-fed and fattened hams to keep well is not to subject them to sudden changes in temperature, as this would alter their properties. However, if we keep it in cool places and temper it to serve it, something very easy to do, we will be able to enjoy all its flavour until the last piece.
